R4000 VME VHF/UHF Receiver

The R4000 receiver is a next generation premium performance product offering extended frequency coverage and expanded digital features.

The digital main board provides dual channel A/D conversion feeding multiple I & Q outputs to the RACE++TM interlink.

Dual RF daughter modules feature a double conversion superhetrodyne tuner which covers the 20-3000 MHz tune range.

R3030  VME HF Receiver

The R3030 receiver provides direct conversion HF processing. The digital main board provides all the digital features of the R4000 receiver and supports dual HF preselection modules.

R4030  VME HF/VHF/UHF Receiver

The R4030 receiver consists of one receiver module from the R4000 and one receiver module from the R3030 providing versitile frequency coverage in a single 6U-160 VME64x receiver.

The two receiver modules each have the features of their dual receivers counterparts. The digital main board provides the advanced digital features of the R4000 receiver.

R3002, R3003, R3004  VME Receivers

Each complete dual channel receiver consists of one 6U-160 VME64x circuit card assembly with three daughter modules.   The VME motherboard provides the digital features of the R4000 receiver including 32 DDRs, delay memory and a dual RACE++TM data output path.   Each of the two RF daughter modules contain a double conversion superhetrodyne receiver with associated preselection and gain control.

The R3002 is comprised of one Low Band RF module covering the 20 to 1000 MHz frequency range and one High Band RF module covering 1000 to 2800 MHz.

The R3003 has two Low Band RF modules, for independently tuning two frequencies in the 20 to 1000 MHz range, while the R3004 has two High Band RF modules for two frequencies in the 1.0 to 2.8 GHz band.

The center module provides the common second LO and sample clock.

R3000 VME Receiver

The R3000 series of VME Receivers are designed to be utilized in embedded collection system applications where it is desired to tightly couple the receiver control and output DSP processing of the received signals.

The RF to I & Q converter card supports two RF daughter modules.  Each RF daughter module contains a double conversion superhetrodyne receiver which covers one of the RF bands, bandwidth limits the IF, and provides AGC/MGC control to the conversion chain.

REF1000   GPS Time-Frequency Distribution Card

The REF1000 VMEbus card provides a GPS C/A code disciplined, precision 10 MHz frequency, and 1 PPS Time reference.  The REF1000 consists of a single 6U–160 VME64x circuit card assembly, containing one daughter module, the GPS receiver assembly.

The onboard 10 MHz oscillator uses a precision SC cut, ovenized crystal.  This oscillator is phase locked to the worldwide GPS signal, combining both the long term frequency accuracy of the GPS disciplined Cesium and Rubidium atomic references, with the superior short term stability of a SC rotated, ovenized 10 MHz crystal.

RFD1000   Multicoupler & GPS Time-Frequency Reference

The RFD1000 VMEbus card provides RF Distribution function with 3 RF Inputs and 8 RF Outputs as well as a GPS locked precision 10 MHz frequency and 1 PPS Time reference.  The RFD1000 consists of a single 6U–160 VME64x circuit card assembly, with two daughter modules.

The multicoupler is divided into eight bands, each of which can have an independent RF attenuator setting as well as a RF preamplifier bypass or off mode.  This function is useful, as an example, when interference from a strong FM or TV broadcast signal is a problem and it is desirable to attenuate or remove these signals from the multicoupled output.

RFD3000   MULTICOUPLER

The RFD3000 6U VMEbus card provides a compact, selectively band limited, RF Distribution function for the R3000 series of COTS VME tuners.  The RFD3000 consists of a single 6U–160 VME64x motherboard assembly, with two RF distribution daughter modules.

The RF Distribution modules have four selectable input sources, three of these are external RF inputs which appear on the front panel and which might correspond to Left side, Right side, and Omni inputs for an aircraft installation, or an external microwave converter input.  The last input is an embedded noise diode which is used for system test (BITE) purposes.

RFD3004   RF DISTRIBUTION UNIT

The RFD3004 6U VMEbus card provides a compact, selectively band limited RF Distribution function that can be used with a variety of Eclipse COTS VME tuners. The RFD3004 consists of a single 6U-160 VME64x motherboard assembly with an RF distribution daughter module.

The RFD3004 covers the 1 MHz to 3000 MHz frequency range with one dedicated HF path, four VHF/UHF band-limited inputs, and three outputs that can select any of the four VHF/UHF inputs. Each path is filtered and amplified with high dynamic range amplifiers before being provided to the outputs.

Additionally, there is an external input that can be selected by each of the four outputs for calibration and BIT purposes.

D1000   WIDEBAND DEMODULATOR

The D1000 Wideband VMEbus Demodulator provides simultaneous AM, FM and PRE-Detection IF outputs in a 6U VME64X form factor.   The D1000 receives wideband input data from the R3000 Receiver via the ANSI/VITA 5.1–1999 Dual RACEwayTM.

The PRE-D, AM and FM digital outputs are availible via the RACEwayTM and are also D/A converted on a mezzanine card and routed to front panel coax connectors for use with wideband analog tape recorders such as the DTR–6 or DTR–8.

ENC0106, ENC0112, ENC0206
Deployable Ruggedized VME64x Card Racks

ENC0106 is a VME64x 6 slot chassis in an ATR style case with a size similar to MS91403-A2C.  The chassis operates from 110-240 VAC at 47-440 Hz or 24 to 28 VDC.  Two 120 mm high volume fans provide cooling.  The air filter is field replaceable. Access to the VME modules is through a removeable top hatch.  All interface conectors are mounted on the front panel.

ENC0112 is a VME64x 12 slot ATR chassis with an MS91403-B2C footprint.  Construction and operation is similar to the ENC0106 except that chassis cooling is accomplished by 4 high volume fans.

ENC0206 is a VME64x 6 slot chassis in a standard 19 inch x 5.25 inch (3U) x 20 inch deep rack mount panel with extender slides.  The panel operates from 110-240 VAC at 47-440 Hz or 24 to 28 VDC.  Two 120 mm high volume fans provide cooling.  Access to the VME modules is through a removeable front panel hatch.  All interface conectors are located on the rear panel.
